Prof. Antonio Leandro Joins BMV as Scientific Counsel
We are pleased to announce that Professor Antonio Leandro has joined BMV as Scientific Counsel.
Antonio is Associate Professor of International Law at the University of Bari “Aldo Moro” and holds the National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor. He is admitted to practice before Italy’s highest courts and holds a PhD in International Law from Sapienza University of Rome. His areas of expertise include Private International and Procedural Law, International and European Investment Law, and the Law of the Sea.
He is a member of the Group of Experts on Restructuring and Insolvency Law and formerly served on the Group of Experts on European Freezing of Bank Accounts appointed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Justice. He has been part of the Italian delegation supporting contact points within the European Judicial Network in civil and commercial matters and has participated, by invitation, in technical working groups at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the UNCITRAL Secretariat, and the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Professor Leandro teaches and coordinates study groups at the Italian School for the Judiciary and has served as a trainer for the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN), the Institut de Formation Judiciaire and the École Nationale de la Magistrature.
He serves as Scientific Advisor to the Italian Navy and was recognized by Lawdragon in 2020 among the 500 Leading Global Bankruptcy & Restructuring Lawyers.
He is Co-Director of the legal series Cultura giuridica e scambi internazionali (ESI) and serves on the editorial boards of several leading legal journals. He has authored three monographs and approximately 200 scholarly publications, including articles, commentaries, book chapters and legal contributions.
