Latest Amendments to the Italian Code of Business Crisis and Insolvency

On 1 July 2022, Legislative Decree No. 83 was published in the Italian Official Gazette. The decree introduces amendments to the Code of Business Crisis and Insolvency established by Legislative Decree No. 14 of 12 January 2019, implementing Directive (EU) 2019/1023 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 on preventive restructuring frameworks, discharge of debt and disqualifications, and measures aimed at increasing the efficiency of restructuring, insolvency and debt discharge procedures, amending Directive (EU) 2017/1132.

The decree entered into force on 15 July 2022, the same date on which the Code of Business Crisis and Insolvency itself became effective (Article 389 of the Code).
