Chiara Gaido is an Italian attorney, whose practice is focused on Intellectual Property Law. The Attorney Renato Vico, specialized in the civil law since his enrollment in the Italian Attorneys' Register dated 1989, while since 2003 he is special member of the Advocacy in front of the Italian Court of Appeal and the other superior jurisdictions. The long experience gained in civil law and the many activities also related to international law culminated with the verdict – adopted on the basis of the appeal presented by Vico himself – with which the European Court of Human Rights of Strasbourg for the first time recognized the right to the reasonable length of the process even in the bankruptcy proceedings (case Ceteroni vs. Italia), has been followed by the reception of many other complaint for equal compensation both in the European Court and in front of the Italian National Court of Appeal and of the Supreme Court.
Paolo Alli has a background in business and engineering. He graduated in Electronic Engineering at the Politecnico of Milano, and from 1976 to 1999 worked as a manager in Italian multi-national companies operating in the energy and environment sectors. He started his political experience at local level in 1993, when he was elected member of the Municipal Council of the town of Legnano, and re-elected in 1997, serving as Deputy Mayor of the town until 2000. From 2000 to 2013, Mr Alli held several positions within the Regional Government of Lombardy, serving successively as: Director General for Public Utilities and Environment; Director General for Research, Innovation and New Economy; Central Director for External and International Relations and Communication of the Presidency; Head of Staff of the Governor; and Undersecretary to the Governor. He was also a member of the Advisory Council for Hydrogen established by the European Commission, and member of the Board of APAT, the National Agency for Environmental Protection from 2007 to 2008. Mr Alli was involved in the organization of the World Exhibition EXPO Milano 2015 as member of the Board of EXPO 2015 SpA, a public company established for the organization and management of the event, and later as Deputy Commissioner General. He has been a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies in the XVII Legislature (2013-2018), serving on the Foreign Affairs Committee and the European Union Policies Committee. Mr Alli has been Vice-Chair of the Italian Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Founder and President of the independent Think Tank 'Trinità dei Monti', established in February 2012 in Rome, through which he cooperates with the Italian and foreign governments, the Italian ministries, the diplomatic world and the business and academic institutions. He regularly attends international economic forums as moderator or panelist. Since 2013 he has been a member of the Pontignano's Anglo-Italian Forum, which brings together 100 UK and Italian personalities including politicians, entrepreneurs and businessmen, journalists and opinion makers to discuss key issues relating to the two countries. He has been involved in electronics since early '70s, teacher and consultant between 1977 and 1982, in computer vision, automation and robotics since early '80s. He then founded and managed different high tech Companies starting with Microsystems Srl and MATE Srl in 1985, cooperating with European and American companies in fields like high performance UNIX computers, computer vision, robotics, distributed I/O systems and SCADA solutions. Since then has been involved in hundreds of projects for many different applications, and he made more than 40 research projects on various topics in Italy and EU. Since 2008 cooperated with Prof. Eugenio Castelli in teaching the course of Computer Vision at the Polytechnic of Milano, becoming in 2010 Contract Professor for the course in Computer Vision. He has been teaching Computer Vision until 2012.
